If you input 'elixir' into the search, you'll get three hits for Red lion substack and afetr that, substack will give you all results. So the search function does both- displays results from Red Lion substack AND results from the rest of substack- unless a search term is used that isn't on redlion substack then it will simply give all result from across substack. Hi, at the top right of the screen, there should be an orange 'subscribe" button, right next to that is a little magnifying glass. So no, I don't think you need to have a paid subscription :)
